Since the first Forza Motorsport released on the original Xbox way back in May of 2005, I’ve been hooked and it’s been the one game to keep me buying Xbox consoles – FH2 is actually the only game I play on my Xbone. But, thanks to Microsoft’s Xbox Play Anywhere program, Forza Horizon is finally coming to PC on September 26th in all its open-world glory with its third installment!
Not too long ago we saw the Forza Motorsport 6: Apex beta hit the Windows store with it’s rather beefy recommended settings calling for an i7 3820, a GTX 970, and 12GB of RAM. Forza Horizon 3 is following suit with its own set of beefed up recommended requirements stating that you’ll need an i7 3820, a GTX 1060 / RX 480, and 12GB of RAM once again. But on the low end, you can squeeze by with an i5 4460, a GTX 760 / R7 260X, and 8GB of RAM – quite the gap between the recommended and min requirements! That said, I’d suggest aiming for a GTX 1070 / i5 6600k / 16GB of RAM like you’ll find in my $1000 gaming PC build if you want to completely experience FH3!
I don’t know a lot about how FH3 will perform, or how the gameplay will compare to Xbox One yet, but what I am certain of is that Forza Horizon 3 is going to kick ass on PC regardless! I have no doubt that there’s a lot of us out there who basically own an Xbox One to play FH2, but now it’s time to experience it with better graphics and potentially smoother performance. It’s also time to use that Xbox One console the way it was meant to be used, as something heavy to keep your papers from flying away – aka a paper weight!
Once FH3 drops on September 26th I’ll definitely be able to get more info out regarding if it’s worth the buy, or not. As things stand right now, I’m super amped that FH is coming to PC and I hope you are too! If you are, or even if you aren’t, let me know why / why not in the comment section!
