The different types of gaming chairs

There are a few different types of chair you could use, from the standard office chair to task chairs, and even racing-inspired chairs. To help you pick the best gaming chair possible, let’s go over the differences between the various type of computer chair. There’s also mid-back and high-back chairs, each bringing their own pros and cons to the table depending on how you like to sit.

big and tall computer chair

DXRacer Tank Series – Calling the big and tall!

Mid-back: These chairs are great if you enjoy sitting in an upward position and don’t require neck or head support. If you’re the kind of gamer who likes to recline back, you might not like a mid-back chair as much as you might like a high-back chair.

High-back: This is the most common type of gaming chair due to how most gamers sit. Reclined back and comfortable. High-back chairs offer ample neck and head support which allows for less discomfort during extended gaming sessions. If you like a mid-back chair, chances are you’ll like a high-back chair even more.

Office/Executive Chairs: These chairs are the most common style you’ll see in stores. They’re plush, have support for tilting, and depending on the price will often come with features like adjustable lumbar support, adjustable arms, and adjustable headrests.

Task Chairs: Sometimes referred to as operator chairs, this kind of chair is often not ideal for most gamers. They often do not support much tilting and try to keep you sitting in an ergonomic upright position. If you enjoy sitting upright opposed to reclining back a bit, this is the type of chair you will want to check out.

Racing Chairs: These are the typical “gaming-style” chair that has become so popular lately. They are inspired by racecar seats and often have model names like “bucket seat” or “Drift Series” depending on the brand. This style of chairs is nearly perfect for gaming as they’ve been engineered with gamers in mind.

Mesh Chairs: Mesh chairs are a breed of their own, usually. They feel much different than other types of computer chair and some can deliver a very comfortable feeling of being suspended in the air, kind of like a hammock. This type of chair is very breathable and is great to use in hot climates or during the summer months. They generally offer similar features to Executive chairs but with the overall comfort of mesh.

Stools: Usually, a stool is a stool, but did you know there are stools specifically designed to be ergonomic? They call them kneeling chairs and some people actually find them really comfortable, especially office workers. As they’re not ideal for gaming in most cases, you won’t find a kneeling chair on this list, but feel free to check one out anyway!

The Materials

There are a few primary materials available for most computer chairs. From synthetic PU leather to mesh and fabric and even the prestigious real leather. It’s worth noting that the latter is relatively rare these days and you’ll often be paying quite the premium for real leather compared to the other common materials.

Giantex Gaming Chair – Budget friendly comfort

In an effort to make sure you’re fully equipped to make an educated choice, let’s cover the primary materials you’ll find used to wrap computer chairs.

Leather: Although seeing real authentic leather (or Nappa) used for an office chair is becoming increasingly rare, these chairs do still exist. More commonly, you’ll find chairs constructed using what’s called PU (polyurethane) leather. PU leather can range from low quality and brittle all the way to very high-quality and very durable. It’s almost always a synthetic leather. It’s commonly used on the majority of computer chairs and especially gaming chairs. Both genuine leather and PU leather are often easy to maintain, easy to clean, and easy to feel comfortable on.

Mesh: Mesh chairs can be constructed from an array of fabrics or materials with the most common being polypropylene, polyethylene, nylon, PVC and PTFE. This upholstery is used to wrap around/across the frame of the chair to create a sensation of being suspended in the air – or at least that’s the goal. Mesh chairs are commonly seen in offices and workplaces due to their appeal of offering more breathability and ultimately a cooler sitting experience. Cleaning a mesh chair can be a pain and anything you spill on it will either go right through or soak into the fabric.

Fabric: Fabric chairs are becoming less common as PU leather is becoming more popular. But you can still find some chairs wrapped primarily in a variety of different fabrics like cotton, polyester, wool, rayon, or even a mixture. Like mesh, cleaning a fabric chair can be a real pain compared to leather. Not only will anything spilled soak right into the cushioning and fabric, but getting stains out will be difficult at best.

Why using a good gaming chair matters

It’s simple! To really enjoy your gaming sessions, you have to be comfortable. No one likes to sit in a chair that’s constantly causing discomfort and forces constant readjustments. Not only is this bad for your posture and the health of your back, neck, and hips, but it’s also bad for your in-game character’s health after you die during yet another readjustment that took your attention away from what really matters.

best gaming chair 2018

DX Racer Drift Series – Sleek and comfortable

If you’re uncomfortable while gaming, your mood will be lower and you just won’t enjoy your time as much as you could otherwise. You don’t buy an uncomfortable couch to sit down and watch TV, so why would you use an uncomfortable chair to game out on your PC?

A good chair can make a world of difference, especially if you’ve been using a bad chair up until now. It’ll be easy to notice right from the first minute you sit down, you’ll finally feel comfortable and you’ll finally be able to completely focus on the task at hand – destroying your competition.

Chairs are a long-term investment when you’re putting together your battlestation and picking the best one is going to ensure you get the most bang for your buck. Not the absolute best and most expensive chair out there, but the best chair you can afford without breaking the bank.

If you’re unsure what gaming chair is going to be the best for you, check out the next section.

How to pick the best gaming chair

Picking the best gaming chair involves a bit more than choosing the best looking option and calling it a day. To get the absolute best experience, you need a chair that matches your body.

best ergonomic gaming chair

Eurotech Ergohuman – Ergonomics perfected

All chairs have different seat and back dimensions, different arm height options, and different height and weight limitations (sometimes both min and max). For these reasons, it’s safe to assume that just like people, chairs come in a wide array of various configurations. Picking the best chair to match your body and sitting style will make a huge difference when it comes to weathering those long gaming sessions.

This is all to say, having a good ergonomic desk setup is crucially important, especially if you’re spending hours on your computer every day. Not just for your long-term health, but so you can fully enjoy gaming without the constant discomfort that comes with poor ergonomics.

If you’ve ever had to use a folding chair for your computer, or if you’ve had to hunch over to use your keyboard, you already know exactly how much discomfort can ruin your day.

Picking the best gaming chair boils down to a combination of finding the one that’s the right size, one that supports your weight without being built for someone much heavier/lighter, and then finally one you think looks good. It sounds like a lot to consider, but with the plethora of options available you’ll be able to find the right chair without a problem.

As always, if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to leave a comment!

Budget Gaming Chairs

Buying a budget level chair doesn't mean you have to get a low quality chair! There are some really awesome chairs at this level that offer a lot of value for the price. Check them out for yourself!

AmazonBasics Mid-Back Office Chair

best budget gaming chairThe AmazonBasics Mid-Back Office Chair serves as a great entry-level option by giving you what you need and nothing more. It’s not fancy nor flashy, but it gets the job done. However, this isn’t the kind of chair that you can expect to use for anything longer than a couple of years without major comfort degradation.

The material used to cover the seat and back portions of the AmazonBasics Mid-Back Chair is a relatively cheap PU leather while the frame is built from PVC. As far as the general feel of this chair goes, it’s good enough for what it is without being excessively bad in any particular area. It tilts back far enough for most people and has a 360-degree swivel, however, there is no lumbar support adjustment nor do the arms adjust.

Due to its mid-back design and weight limit of 225lbs (102kg), this is definitely not a chair that’s suited for larger people. However, for the more average-sized person, this chair works great as a budget option.

All-in-all, this chair from Amazon’s AmazonBasics line of products is fairly solid for the price. It’s not mindblowing, but it’s definitely good enough to get the job done and keep you comfy for at least a while.

The Good

  • Inexpensive

The Bad

  • Cheap materials
  • Arms don’t adjust

Giantex Gaming Chair

best cheap gaming chairIf you’re looking for a cheap high-back chair, then this chair from Giantex is one to consider. However, it’s worth noting that this particular chair does not tilt very far, just in case this is a deal breaker for you.

The Giantex Gaming Chair is a good high-back chair for a very reasonable price. The primary material is a soft PU leather that feels rather cheap; I don’t see it lasting for much more than 1-2 years tops. There are also fabric mesh portions which feel pretty average. The rest of the chair is constructed from a combination of PVC plastic and metal where it’s needed. The arms are fixed position and cannot be moved, lumbar support adjustment is also a feature not included in this chair; however.

This chair does support up to 264lbs (119kg) which makes it suitable for most gamers. However, the bigger and heavier gamers out there are going to want to look elsewhere.

As with most inexpensive chairs, the Giantex Gaming Chair isn’t one you buy to serve long-term needs, but it’s a chair that will serve you well until the cushioning and faux leather inevitably degrade. As far as cheap high-back gaming chairs go, this is definitely an option to consider.

The Good

  • Inexpensive
  • High-back

The Bad

  • Cheap materials
  • Not much for tilting
  • Arms do not adjust

Merax Mid-Back Office Chair

best cheap red gaming chairWant a chair that looks a little more gamery than your basic office chair? Check out the Merax Mid-back office chair. Why they called it an office chair, I’m not sure, but this is definitely a chair targeted towards gamers. From the red and black color scheme (blue and black is also available) to the aggressive design patterns.

The padding is relatively comfortable and the chair is covered primarily with a PU leather with some mesh portions. However, like with most budget gaming chairs, I do not see this material lasting forever. It will last you for a while and be comfortable while doing so, but it’s inevitable that it will break down over time, exactly how long depends on how many hours you spend in your chair every day. The rest of the chair is manufactured using PVC plastic and metal where needed.

This chair will support up to 220lbs (100kg) and as such is not ideal for larger gamers. The mid-back design is slightly taller than other mid-back chairs and feels like a compromise between mid and high. If you’re not a fan of mid-back chairs and high-back chairs are too much, this might be something to check out.

For a chair in the sub-$100 price bracket, it’s hard to complain about Merax’s Mid-Back Office Chair too much. It will get the job done while looking good at the same time, just don’t expect it to last as long as a high-end chair would.

The Good

  • Inexpensive
  • Relatively comfortable
  • Decent back support

The Bad

  • Arms do not adjust

Homall Gaming Chair

best cheap gaming chairThis chair from Homall might be the cheapest on the list, but it’s a long way from feeling “cheap”. Sporting a clean red and black design (blue and black is also available) this is a great looking chair for pretty much any setup. Comfort? Well, let’s talk about that.

Homall’s gaming chair isn’t uncomfortable, but it’s not what a lot would call comfortable either.  It’s stiff and rigid everywhere except the cushion for your thighs/knees. That said, it’s not hard to see why someone who likes a rigidity like that would feel right at home sitting in this chair. It’s primarily wrapped in PU leather except for a few places where there’s a mesh-like fabric. It’s not for everyone, but if you like a stiff chair you should check out this one. The ergonomics are good with the backrest being shaped nicely as well as the seat.

This chair will support up to 280lbs (127kg) without an issue and is built a little bigger to support larger frames. The castors that it comes with are surprisingly good as they’re not your basic hard nylon, Homall actually throws in rubber PU wheels that really make it nice to roll around on hard surfaces – the rubber wheels result in less damage to your floor as well.

If you’re a taller/bigger person looking for a good solid chair without breaking the bank, this one from Homall might be what you’re after. It’s tall, rigid, and gets the job done. You can’t ask for much more out of a chair that costs just over $60.

The Good

  • Very inexpensive
  • Rigid padding
  • Decent back and neck support
  • Good for bigger people

The Bad

  • Arms do not adjust

AmazonBasics High-Back Chair

ergonomic gaming chairThe 2nd and last entry from the AmazonBasics lineup on this list is their high-back executive chair. It’s more padded than most chairs at this level and looks a little more professional as well, for anyone out there trying to maintain a home office on a budget while gaming at the same time.

This chair is primarily wrapped in PU leather and constructed using plastic, there’s metal as well but only where it’s required. I can say from experience, this chair will work great for about a year and then it’ll start to break down pretty quickly. However, during that year it’s going to be a very comfortable chair that you’ll enjoy sitting in, and for a great price too.

It’ll easily support up to 250lbs (113kg) and seems to be built with taller frames in mind. The tilt function works well and the pneumatic lift allows for a fair amount of adjustment.

All-in-all, it’s a good chair as long as you don’t expect it to last forever. Chairs at this level have a relatively short lifespan if they’re being used all the time and this one is really no different. It’s comfortable and sturdy enough, but the materials used just aren’t meant for the abuse that us gamers put their chairs through! So, if you’re looking for a good, comfy chair that’ll last you for a while, this one from Amazon is most definitely one to consider.

The Good

  • Comfortable padding
  • Decent back and neck support

The Bad

  • Arms do not adjust

Mid-Range Gaming Chairs

Mid-Range gaming chairs are the most common level and are what the majority of gamers use, or should be using. These chairs are going to offer good quality, lots of comfort, nice aesthetics, and solid warranties. They'll last for a lot longer than a budget level chair and are a great investment to make if you're spending lots of time gaming.

Ficmax High-Back Gaming Chair

best leather gaming chairFicmax’s High-Back Gaming Chair is a great mid-range option on the lower end of the price spectrum. It’s built well and comes with a lot of features that you’re probably not expecting to get in a chair at this price.

For starters, it’s wrapped in a soft PU leather and cushioned well everywhere – if not just initially. The rest of the chair is constructed with a lot of plastic and a bit of metal where it’s needed. It also comes with a USB-powered back massager that works fairly well and even a retractable footrest. However, it’s worth noting that if you’re much taller than 6’0″ the footrest won’t work too well-  it’s doable, but it’s not ideal. This chair will also support up to 300lbs (136kg), supports 360-degree swivel and will tilt all the way back to 180 degrees.

As an added bonus, Ficmax offers a free replacement/money back guarantee for any reason within 30 days of buying it. They also offer a lifetime warranty on the frame of the chair and a 12-month warranty on all parts. It’s worth noting that it’s also a breeze to put together, 20 minutes is probably all you need.

There are a few reviews mentioning the pneumatic lift failing and some about the cushioning becoming flat, but there are also lots that talk about the exact opposite. We didn’t experience any major malfunctions with our test sample and it seemed to be a great chair at a great price.

The Good

  • Comfortable padding
  • Good back and neck support
  • Leg rest
  • Comes with lumbar and neck cushions

The Bad

  • Foot rest is not ideal for taller (6’0″+) people

Homall Bucket Seat Gaming Chair

best bucket seat gaming chairHomall’s Bucket Seat Gaming Chair shares a few similarities to Ficmax’s High-Back Gaming Chair, but it drops a couple of features as well as some dollars off the price. It serves as a great alternative if you’re looking for a good chair but you don’t need or want the features of the previously mentioned chair.

It’s wrapped in a nice PU leather with “carbon fiber” PU leather inserts which add some nice aesthetic flair. The cushioning is a little rigid but still comfortable and feels like it should last for a while before it becomes less so. It comes with 2 comfortable pillows for your neck and lower back and offers a big wide seating area good for sharing with your cat. This chair will also support up to 300lbs (136kg) and will recline all the way back to 180 degrees. It’s also worth noting that this chair goes really low, at the lowest point it’s only 18″ above the floor.

The armrests are adjustable, the back tilts as far as you want, it goes both very low and very high and the castors are rubber wrapped. It’s hard to find any negatives with this chair without nitpicking or trying to predict the future of what could potentially happen.

For right around $150, Homall’s Bucket Seat Gaming Chair is a solid choice that’s well worth some consideration.

The Good

  • Can go very low
  • Comfortable padding
  • Good back and neck support
  • Comes with lumbar and neck cushions
  • Great for bigger people

The Bad

  • Not the greatest instructions
  • Putting it together can be annoying

DXRacer Racing Series DOH/RW106/N

best racing gaming chairDXRacer is a relatively famous brand and got there by putting out great products that people love. Their Racing Series DOH/RW106/N is absolutely no exception. It’s sleek, comfortable, and high-quality. However, this comes at a price of around $300 usually. DXRacer is kind of like the Lamborghini of gaming chairs; they’re well known, really nice, you can likely get something that feels almost the same for cheaper, but you’re going to buy one anyways.

The Racing Series DOH/RW106/N is wrapped in nice PU material and mesh which gives it a very comfortable feel. The cushioning is very comfortable and feels like you’re sitting in the seat of an exotic sports car.

Something to note is the DOH/RW106/N is technically only rated to support up to 200lbs (90kg) which means even slightly larger-than-average people aren’t technically supported by it. Bigger people than that probably use them, but it’s definitely something to be aware of.

If you want a high-quality chair that makes it feel like you’re sitting in an expensive racing seat instead of a gaming chair, the Racing Series DOH/RW106/N should be near the top of your list.

The Good

  • Nice materials
  • Good build quality
  • Comfortable / good neck and back support

The Bad

  • Only supports up to 200lbs

Ewin Gaming Chair

ergonomic chair for womenThe Ewin Gaming Chair is great for big and tall gamers with a weight support of 330lbs and a height that makes having long legs less of a burden. Its frame is built from high-quality steel and the padding was selected with heavy-duty use in mind. Big gamers, this is a chair you need to check out.

Wrapped in a nice, soft PU leather and padded with high quality cushioning, this chair from Ewin is not only very comfortable but very durable. Assembly is a bit annoying but that can be easily overlooked (and forgotten about) as soon as you sit down in it, especially if you’re a bigger gamer who’s used to chairs not being “quite right”.

It also comes with 2 pillows, one for neck support and the other for lumbar support. The arms can be adjusted quite high (or low) as can the seat of the chair. Otherwise, it’s a fairly standard “racing” style gaming chair.

For the big and tall gamer, this chair from Ewin is a great choice to keep near the top of your list!

The Good

  • Good materials
  • Durable
  • Comfortable
  • Great for bigger gamers (up to 330lbs)

The Bad

  • Assembly can be a pain

DXRacer Drifting Series DOH/DF72/NG

The DXRacer Drifting Series DOH/DF72/NG is a chair that brings top-level quality and comfort together. Not only is this chair super comfortable to use for extended periods of time, but it’s also bridging on being a high-end “executive-level” chair. The fact that there’s a lifetime warranty on the frame and a 24-month warranty on the parts is just the cherry on top.

If you’re prepared to pay a small premium for proper comfort, the DXRacer Drifting Series is without a doubt a consideration you have to make. However, the big and tall gamers should be looking into the King series or the Tank series of DXRacer chairs as they’re more suited to your larger frames.

The Drifting Series DOH/DF72/NG comes with a nice tall backrest and a deep seat to allow for maximum comfort while gaming over extended periods of time. It will tilt back to almost a full 180 degrees without any wobble or feel like you’re going to tip. Because of this, testing may have been interrupted by a short comfort-induced powernap.

If you want comfort and you want quality, the DXRacer Drifting Series won’t let you down. That is, as long as you’re not much more than the supported weight. If that’s you, check out DXRacer’s Tank or King series chairs instead! Everyone else, you’re going to absolutely love this chair!

The Good

  • Good materials
  • Durable
  • Very comfortable!

The Bad

  • Not a lot of head/neck support if you’re over 6’0″

High-End Chairs

This is the executive level of comfort and quality. These chairs are all high-quality, extremely comfortable, and some are even customizable right from the manufacturer. If you value your comfort as much as you enjoy gaming, this is the level of chair you want.

Eurotech Ergohuman Mesh

best computer chair 2018The Eurotech Ergohuman Mesh is a very interesting, completely mesh chair. It’s built with very high-quality materials and you can tell from the moment you sit down in it, this is a chair that’s built with comfort and ergonomics put first.

The material is a fabric mesh that offers some spring and a lot of comfort. This is a great type of chair to use in the summer when it’s exceptionally hot out as it offers unparalleled breathability. If you’re spending long hours in front of a computer screen, the high back and headrest are going to save your back and neck from excessive strain. There are multiple colors available as well as a non-mesh variant of the Ergohuman.

Everything on the Ergohuman spells quality. From the high-end castors to the very durable construction of the frame, this is simply an exceptionally high-quality chair. However, something worth noting is the seat of this chair does not tilt backward, only the back tilts which can make for an uncomfortable session depending on how you’re most comfortable sitting.

If you want a stylish, ergonomic, functional, and extremely comfortable chair, the Eurotech Ergohuman is without a doubt one of the easiest recommendations.

The Good

  • High-quality, durable materials
  • Good back and neck support
  • Very comfortable!
  • Keeps you sitting with proper posture
  • Multiple colors available

The Bad

  • Mesh might be uncomfortable for some people – if you’ve never tried it, do that before buying!
  • Doesn’t tilt too far to keep you sitting with proper posture

Crossford Executive Office Chair

computer gaming chairWhen you hear “executive office chair,” you think of something very similar to Crossford’s Executive Office Chair. This high-end minimalist chair is for the gamer who wants a luxurious level of comfort without breaking the monochromatic color-scheme of your loft. It’s also perfect for the more professional gamer who’s home office doubles as a battlestation.

This chair is wrapped in a very smooth PU leather and stuffed with what seems like some of the most comfortable cushioning out there. From an 8-hour gaming session to a 15-minute social media splurge, this is a very comfortable chair to use. However, some reviews point to poor QC regarding the arms of the chairs rattling; this wasn’t an issue with the chair used for testing but it’s something to watch out for. Otherwise, the assembly is a breeze and only requires maybe 20 minutes.

Being rated to 250lbs (113kg), this chair will work for most people except the biggest and tallest gamers out there; if that’s you then you’re going to want to check out the following chairs!

For the minimalist gamers out there, this is a great chair to choose as it offers top-level quality and comfort without going over the top on the aesthetics.

The Good

  • High-quality, durable materials
  • Good back support
  • Very comfortable padding
  • Looks classy

The Bad

  • Potentially some QC issues

DXRacer Tank Series DOH/TS29/N

comfortable gaming chairLet’s face it, you’re a big person and you need an equally big chair to match. That’s where the DXRacer Tank Series comes in. These chairs are built with big people in mind and they have no problem delivering results.

The DOH/TS29/N is wrapped in a tough (not rough) feeling PU leather that’s not quite as soft as other chairs – but you can easily tell it’s built to last. It’s also easy to tell it’s been built with big and tall people in mind as it’s noticeably taller and wider than most other computer chairs. Assembly is a little more involved than with a lot of other chairs as there are seemingly more parts, this also gives you a chance to examine the parts and see for yourself exactly how high-quality everything is.

The Tank Series DOH/TS29/N weighs in at roughly 65lbs on its own and can support up to somewhere around 450lbs (204kg). Its been built with a recommended minimum height of  6’1″ with a maximum height of 6’7″. Basically, if you weigh under 300lbs and you’re not 6’1″ or taller, you might find this chair either too stiff or too tall. However, if you’re north of those measurements then you are definitely going to find this chair extremely comfortable.

If you’ve been shopping in the big and tall section since you were 15, this chair is probably the one you’re looking for. Not only is it very comfortable, but it’s built to last from some of the highest quality materials.

The Good

  • Tough feeling materials – they called Tank for a reason
  • Built to last
  • Supports up to 450lbs / 6’7″
  • Comfortable for the right people

The Bad

  • This chair won’t be comfortable if you’re too small for it

noblechairs ICON

big and tall gaming chairThe noblechairs ICON is the only real leather chair on this list and it is absolutely beautiful. It’s worth noting that there PU leather option as well as a Nappa option available from noblechairs’ website. But, the one we’re going to talk about is real leather.

noblechairs did a fantastic job when they designed the ICON, everything is of the highest quality and it’s pretty easy to tell from the second you open the box. From the flawless leather to extremely comfortable cushioning and super smooth adjustment and rolling, it’s all of the highest quality. If there was a single word to describe the ICON it would be luxurious. Even the pillows are luxurious.

It’s hard to find flaws in a chair of this quality, but the standard flaw to nitpick exists here and it’s the arms. Like the vast majority of chairs with adjustable arms, there’s some wiggle room here. It’s nothing major, but it exists. Okay, there is another flaw, the ICON does not have adjustable lumbar support. They do supply a cushion for lumbar support, but sometimes that’s just not good enough.

If you’re the kind of person who demands comfort and luxury from everything, including your gaming chair, then the noblechairs ICON is the one for you.

The Good

  • High-quality materials
  • Nice plush pillows
  • Very comfortable
  • Highly adjustable
  • Synthetic leather alternatives available

The Bad

  • No lumbar adjustment… what?

Herman Miller Embody

best gaming chairThe Herman Miller Embody is a very unique and rather pricey chair. However, you get what you pay for and that’s unparalleled quality and potentially comfort. I say potentially because not everyone is going to like the Embody. However, those who do like it will love it and continue to do so for years to come.

You can also have your own custom Embody made through Herman Miller’s site.

As far as adjustability goes, the Embody is probably the most adjustable chair out there. You can (and are supposed to) adjust everything to your liking. In terms of comfort, once you have the embody tuned to your sitting style, it could be the most comfortable computer chair you’ve ever used. Your mileage may vary, but this is often the case. That said, if you need a headrest then the Embody might not be ideal for you.

The overall design is very modern and likely won’t appeal to everyone. Something else to take into consideration is that you’ll have to spend time adjusting the fine points to achieve the maximum level of comfort this chair can put out.

If you have the money to invest in a very high-quality chair, and ultimately your long-term health, the Herman Miller Embody is what you want to look at first. Remember, comfort is subjective and you might not like the Embody as much as you might like something else.

The Good

  • Very unique design
  • Very comfortable
  • Great back support
  • Very ergonomic
  • Highly adjustable
  • Customizable

The Bad

  • Very unique design (yes, it’s a pro and a con)
  • Expensive

Herman Miller Aeron Remastered

best gaming chairsThe Herman Miller Aeron is the classic definition of a high-quality task chair. The remastered version took that classic style that so many people loved and improved upon it in almost every way.

Like with the Embody, the Aeron Remastered allows for a semi-suspended feeling when you’re sitting. Similar to a hammock. If you’ve ever sat in the classic Aeron then you’ll already know full well how comfortable this setup is.

Also like the Embody, you can have your own custom Aeron Remastered made via Herman Miller’s site.

Sitting in the Aeron Remastered is comparable to receiving a hug from a cloud. Thanks to the 8Z Pellicle used in the construction of the chair and the 8 points of varying tension that makes for an extremely comfortable sitting experience. Almost unrivaled.

There are 3 sizes of Aeron Remastered and to get the most out of your chair you have to pick the right size. Size B will be good for most people but larger gamers will want to opt for a size C. Size A is pretty small and is best for equally small people (under 150lbs).

In the world of chairs, Herman Miller is a company who does not need an introduction due to the sheer quality of products they’ve been making for decades. The Aeron Remastered upholds this standard and delivers nearly unrivaled comfort.

The Good

  • Classic Aeron design
  • Very comfortable
  • Everything is high-quality
  • Highly adjustable
  • Customizable

The Bad

  • You don’t have one

Conclusion

Picking the right gaming chair is often the difference between enjoying your gaming sessions and not. If you’re constantly struggling to get comfortable because your chair sucks, it’s going to be hard to immerse yourself into a game and enjoy it like you could otherwise. That’s not good!

This is why it pays to do your research and find the absolute best gaming chair for your needs and uses. You don’t necessarily have to spend insane amounts of money to achieve that either; often times a mid-range chair will feel just as comfortable as a high-end chair in comparison.

With any luck, this gaming chair buyer’s guide was able to help you pick the best chair that’ll keep you comfy. If you have any questions or feel that an awesome chair was left off the list, feel free to leave a comment below!
