Dark Souls 3 was announced back at E3 2015, and with it returns the original lead game-dev, Hidetaka Miyazaki, as well as a return to the original Dark Souls 1 feel of gameplay – and anger management classes you should probably be taking. I’m sure the world is going to be a lot more reminiscent of DS1 as well.
The scale of DS3 is supposed to be absolutely insane, to the point where you can enter basically any building you can find a door for. The size of the world is something that’s been emphasized numerous times, but it seems almost unbelievable after you’ve seen some screens. But, only time will tell.
Combat has been reworked a bit, giving you different fighting stances that you can switch to, depending on the type of weapon you’re using. Everything other than that is mechanically similar to Dark Souls 1, with fluidity of animations like DS2. This is something I welcome whole-heartedly. I was a big fan of DS1’s movement, but I liked how fluid things felt in 2.
All-in-all, Dark Souls 3 looks super-promising, and it’s definitely something I’m going to be following as it gets closer to it’s rumored release in early 2016.
