Fallout 4’s release date is getting pretty close now, and Bethesda has started to put out a video series covering the S.P.E.C.I.A.L stats that you’re going to be allocating to build your characters.
So, instead of you having to click through YouTube a whole bunch of times to actually watch all of the videos, we’ve collected them here in a nice easy-to-watch fashion! There are still a couple of videos yet to be released, and we’ll add them to this list once they are.
UPDATE 10/21/2015All of the Fallout 4 S.P.E.C.I.A.L videos have officially been released, and you can now find all of them below!
If you’re not sure, Fallout 4 releases on November 10th, 2015 to the next-gen consoles and PC. No system requirements have been released yet, but once they are we’ll have them here! I’m sure they’ll be nothing like Star Wars: Battlefront’s demanding requirements.
UPDATE 10/10/2015Fallout 4’s system requirements have been released, and they’re definitely good news for everyone!
Strength controls how much loot you can carry, how hard your melee strikes will hit, and the size of weapons you can use. So if you’re going to be hoarding everything you find while swinging a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire, having a high strength stat is what you need.
Perception governs your characters senses as well as their ability to do things like handle explosives, pick pockets and make long range shots in V.A.T.S. So if you’re going to be a long-ranged thief in Fallout 4, having a high perception is a good call.
Endurance is all about how far you can sprint, how resilient your body is to harmful effects of the wasteland, how long you can hold your breath, and possibly how you intake nutrients from different things. Endurance is usually a good skill to have in the mid-range for any wanderer of the wasteland.
Your charisma skill is going to effect how you interact with the other inhabitants of the wasteland, and how well you’re going to be able to barter items. Charisma is also going to effect how you can interact with your dog, and how useful your companions will be.
Intelligence controls how effective you’re going to be with energy weapons and while hacking. It’s also going to allow you to invent items and your medicine skill. So if you’re into turning enemies into puddles of goo with plasma rifles, intelligence is for you!
If you remember back to New Vegas, there was really no skill that could make you more caps than the luck skill. Having 8 or more could allow you to easy clean out the casinos on the Strip. Not only that, but luck aided you in nailing the crits and finding better loot.
Luck is going to play a similar role in Fallout 4, and it’s probably going to be one of those stats that everyone should raise regardless of your build.
