Mid-Range Builds

These mid-range builds are all about meeting that 1080p 60fps sweet spot for AAA gaming. They’ll all be able to run any AAA game on at least high settings while pushing out a steady frame rate of 60 frames per second – definitely what you want when gaming! By AAA games, I’m referring to games like The Witcher 3, R6: Siege, Battlefield 1, etc.

In something like the insanely popular PUBG, none of these builds will have issues with competitive settings in 1080p. If you’re a fan of your games looking good, high settings are plausible at 60fps on the higher priced builds.

As you can see, most of these builds are running AMD Ryzen processors, and there’s a reason for that. Ryzen processors have consistently shown better all-around numbers when compared to their Intel counterparts, not only that but they’re cheaper to boot. That being said, I’ve still included the i5 7600K in my $1000 build as it’s still a very solid performer in terms of a dedicated gaming PC. But, there’s also an alternative $1000 build sporting an AMD R5 1600 and a much better graphics card than the Intel $1000 build.

These builds aren’t limited to 1080p 60fps either, in some games they’ll be able to crank out 1440p 60fps and even 1080p 144fps depending on the game and the build. Obviously, the higher priced builds are more capable at higher frame rates/higher resolutions, but pick the build suited for your needs. If you only have a 1080p 60Hz  monitor, there’s no need for a build that’s meant for 1440p or 4k gaming.

These builds come with the basic components you’re going to need to get up and running, including:
  • Case
  • Motherboard
  • Processor
  • Graphics Card
  • RAM
  • Storage
  • Power Supply

With that said, you will still need an operating system, a mouse, keyboard, a monitor, and some kind of audio. Generally speaking, if you have none of the above, you will be looking at adding a lot to the total cost of your build, just something to keep in mind.
