Razer are responsible for creating what many people consider to be the first ever gaming mouse. They have made some of the most popular products in the entire world and have produced gaming peripherals for longer than pretty much everyone else. However, none of their works are as well-known as the DeathAdder.

One of the most well-liked head clickers in Esports for a long time has been DeathAdder. Professionals have changed the course of gaming history while using this mouse. Over the years, Razer has launched a number of updated DeathAdders, and DeathAdder V3 Pro is the culmination of all of these iterations. According to Razer, it is light, ergonomic, and better than before. But is the hype surrounding this new DeathAdder actually justified?

Evolution of the Razer DeathAdder

It’s likely that you have at least heard of Razer, they have been making some of the most well-known gaming accessories in the world for many years. They introduced DeathAdder, their most recognizable product, in 2006. It was an ergonomic mouse and the first 3G infrared optical sensor-equipped Razer device.

The DeathAdder was among the most precise gaming mouse available with its 1000 Hz polling rate. Razer kept upgrading the mouse year after year, but it wasn’t until 2012 that they introduced what is widely regarded as the most iconic version of their renowned product.

DeathAdder 2013: A Game-Changer in the Competitive Gaming Scene

The DeathAdder 2013 was created for the greatest level of competition. Razer reduced the weight of the 2013 model by 28 grams and added a newer, more precise 4G sensor. It was surprising to see how quickly this new model captured the hearts of many Counter Strike players.

The new DeathAdder was praised by several Counter-Strike gamers in addition to them. The League of Legends legends joined them, giving the impression that Razer had produced the ideal gaming mouse from the outside. Any competitor in any Esports could employ this universal masterpiece to great success.

From tactical shooters to MOBAS (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena Video Games), people everywhere were winning events using the DeathAdder. Razer refined the DeathAdder 2013 over time to almost perfectness, including an improved sensor, optical switches, and a significant weight reduction that made it one of the lightest wired mice available.

Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro: A Worthwhile Upgrade or Unnecessary Hype?

When Razer announced that they were releasing yet another update, people wondered what else they could be possibly looking to improve upon. It sort of felt that after the V2, there was nothing substantial left to fix and we wondered if the V3 Pro is kind of a waste of money.

Design and Comfort of the DeathAdder V3 Pro

Razer shifted the two side buttons and the scroll wheel up and moved the DPI switch to the bottom of the mouse so you don’t hit it accidentally in midgame. The flares on the sides of the mouse are not as aggressive as they were on past iterations of the DeathAdder, but there is a very subtle ledge where your ring finger sits, making the mouse feel really comfortable. The weight of the Razer V3 Pro is also about the Logitech G Pro Superlight. Razer’s new Gen 3 switches also feel great, and they claim that they are suitable for 90 million clicks, but most importantly, they sound crisp.

The DeathAdder V3 Pro costs $150, which may sound like a lot, but that’s the price you pay for a premium gaming mouse. So, if you are in for a high-quality, medium to large ergonomic gaming mouse, you should consider the DeathAdder V3 Pro.

Final Thoughts

Razer chose to enhance their most iconic product rather than introducing a whole new one. Given that there have been numerous incarnations of the DeathAdder, it’s kind of crazy to think that the V3 Pro might be the finest one yet. Some gamers don’t particularly want to switch up their peripherals, but the DeathAdder seems similar enough in its current incarnation that users of the original can pick it up and use it, and those who never had the chance to try one in the past can still appreciate it for what it is now. Numerous professionals have already shifted to the V3 Pro, and the G3 Pro has even helped certain OGs come back.
