    Silverstone GD09B (RTX 3070) Ryzen 5 5600X Gaming/HTPC Build
Great product for my purposes. Good amount of room for a couple peripherals (2xSSD and 1xHDD). Fits a RTX 3070 no problem. Modular PSU definitely recommended as cabling will be tight, but there are plenty of mounting points for fans. Liquid cooling would also be pretty tight and require some research on dimensions to try to make it fit as the motherboard only clears the intake fans on the right side by a couple millimeters. This is plenty capable of being a gaming HTPC or desktop PC, with room for a decent air cooler and even more room for a larger cooler if you only had M.2 drives or just 1 HDD/SDD so you could remove the optical drive tray. I am using the Noctua NH-U9S in a Pull configuration. If this were an HTPC with an optical drive, a low profile cooler would probably be needed (such as the stock Ryzen cooler), in order to plug in the optical drive. Optionally one could try right-angle connectors to make that configuration work with a tower cooler.I think the case has a good fit and finish, and the intake filters are very effective, without affecting the airflow too much. Plastic front instead of actual brushed aluminum is a shame but the case looks great in an entertainment center regardless. The general build quality is very good, with hefty black aluminum for the case. The supplied screws are pretty cheap, but they work.Three downsides I can think of are the lack of thumb screws for the cover, which can be easily replaced by aftermarket thumb screws, and the strangely large and bulky USB header cable which is much too long and feels like it has reinforced rubber that is overkill just for 2xUSB 3.0 headers. The 120mm fan that comes with the case also happens to be the noisiest even though it's a low-RPM fan. If this weren't a gaming PC then it would be an OK fan to keep at low speed, but for a gaming build you would probably want to replace it with a higher quality fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars This case is great!
Reviewed in the United States on July 22, 2017
I can't say enough about how much I like this computer case. I have had it for about two years, with two different builds inside it. The first one was a budget media PC for playback on my TV. The second one I decided to build a compact gaming PC with a full ATX mothebroard, high end graphics card, liquid cooler, and two hard drives. Everything did fit inside of the case with a small modification to the HDD/CD drive tray. I've uploaded photos to show what I did to the case. But basically, the radiator for the water cooler was too big by a very small amount and it made the HDD tray not fit inside the case. I cut the HDD tray using a Dremel and a cut off wheel, and mounted my 3.5" HDD sideways using two screws. I also have a 2.5" SSD mounted on the bottom of the HDD tray that can't be seen. The best part about this case is there are multiple ways to mount both 3.5 and 2.5 drives, which is great when there isn't much space to work in. This case is perfect for compact gaming rigs. It is almost exactly the same length as my Yamaha receiver, so it should be about the same length as most A/V receivers. This makes for a really nice look with other stereo equipment. Overall I highly recommend this case, it is great for all kinds of PC buolds

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for a HTPC/1080p gaming build.
Reviewed in Canada on August 18, 2017
Great case, fits 3x120mm fans and 2x80mm fans. One 120mm fan is included. Currently running 2x120mm intake and one 120mm exhaust fan for positive pressure set up. Takes a standard ATX power supply and keeps everything nice and cool while still fitting in a standard entertainment cabinet.

Running R3 1200 at 3.950GHz with GTX 1060 6gb on a 450 watt Bronze+ PSU. Temps are very reasonable and no thermal throttling.

For those complaining about noise, it really comes down to fan profiles and the fans you buy to supplement the system. There is some fan noise, however it is only audible (even under full load) when there is no audio source playing. Watching movies, playing games, listening to music, etc. Any audio source at low volume easily drowns out any case noise you might hear.

In my setup in particular I am running an aggressive overclock on my cpu as well as fan curves that run at 50% all the time and ramp to 90% at 60c. It has enough airflow (with 2 120mm fans added) to let my R3 1200 run stable at 3.95GHz and hit a 605 in Cinebench15. Even with that the case is still not audible when a audio source is playing at any reasonable volume. I've paired this with a Schiit Modi 2 USB DAC on a simple 2.0 tower speaker setup and it's truly fantastic.

The best part is that this case will be able to carry me through several upgrades (so long as usb 3.0 remains supported) given that it fits a standard ATX power supply, standard ATX motherboards, and graphics cards just over 12" in length. You would be hard pressed to find a better HTPC case for the price.

Now, the downsides. Not as many drive bays as I'd like, especially for 2.5" SSD drives. However this can be overcome with some creativity and industrial velcro. The structural support bar makes a great mounting point for SATA III SSD's and depending on your cooler you could easily get 2 (maybe 3) mounted there even with a 5.25" drive (DVD/Blu Ray). The other downside is that this case does not have any thumb screws. You will have to pull out a screwdriver to do anything with it. I don't see this as a big deal as a HTPC is usually only torn into to upgrade and if you are doing that I expect that you'll be taking most components out anyway; but others may complain about the lack of thumb screws.

Take home message for this is that the case is astounding at it's price point. Lots of space for most users, supports standard ATX sizes, runs more than quiet enough and had good build quality.
