The Star Wars: Battlefront beta opens up to everyone this Thursday (October 8th) and goes live until Monday the 12th (it will probably get extended), so it might help to know beforehand whether or not your rig is up to snuff.
The recommended specs are absolutely through the roof and definitely gives us a good idea of what games other games’ system requirements might look like over the next few months. Fallout 4 comes to mind, although I don’t think it’s going to be anywhere near this.

If you’re wondering how you can get in on the Battlefront beta, it’s a lot easier than you’re thinking. You don’t even have to register for it, all you have to do is download it from Origin on October 8th. Simple! The download is said to be only 11GB, and you can begin preloading it on Wednesday the 7th.
lol 16gb of ram? i doubt it’s going to need that, i think my 8gb should be fine
16GB does seem a little high for a recommended spec, right? This wouldn’t be the first time that we’ve been told a game will require insane specs and then at launch people with potatoes can run it. Maybe they’re taking into account what you would need to stream it while playing? This older article from PC Gamer explains how they tested Arkham City with 8GB and then 4GB of RAM without seeing any noticable difference before turning PhysX on – I’m sure we will be able to see similar results with Battlefront when testing with 8gb vs 16gb.
