The Vertagear SL5000 is an ergonomic focused gaming chair for people up to the height of 6’ 4”. It can hold up to 330 pounds (260 lbs. recommended) so can fit a wide range of usersThis chair is super easy to assemble and comes with one of the nicest assembly Allen wrenches that I have ever seen included with a product, which makes it even more effortless to put together along with the easy to follow and detailed user manual. The chair comes with a neck and lumbar pillow which really adds to the comfort factorThe chair comes in 7 colors (at the time of writing) with 3 additional colors either out of stock or coming.

Design

The design is one of the strong points of this chair! The chair is made from PUC Synthetic Faux Leather which is a combination of PU and PVC leather making it more durable and comfortable at the same time.  Other users have reported that this chair does start to wear over time but that is to be expected with most chairs.

The design of this chair is focused on the gamer. It is comfortable to use for long periods of time especially if you’re using the lumbar and neck support.

The frame of this chair is made from steel making it durable enough to hold up to 330 pounds. It has an adjustable back rest from 80 to 140 degrees to maximize comfort. The height of the seat adjusts from 18-21″ to get your desired position and the arm rest adjusts in 4 different directions to optimize gameplay and typing support.

This chair is also compatible with Vertagear’s RGB LED upgrade lighting kit which, for an extra $300, will allow you to put RGB on your gaming chair!

The SL5000 model has HygennX unique point on Midnight Blue color only. What is HygennX? The Vertagear HygennX features patented technologies that shield your chair and accessories from odor, bacteria, and moisture build-up. Nano-sized coffee granules within purified coffee grounds are woven into our HygennX fibers and embedded into our HygennX padding, absorbing and neutralizing odors. Silver-coated embroidery shields against bacterial and fungal growth by delivering positive ions (Ag+) that attach and neutralize the negative ions from bacteria.

Comfort

The foam inside the chair is made from UPHR Foam or Ultra-Premium High Resilience Foam. Both the back and the bottom of the chair are padded with foam which provides a very comfortable experience.  Some might find this chair a bit stiff at first, but it actually makes it more comfortable during long periods of use. The whole chair is padded except for the armrests, which I would have liked to see foamed. Since the armrests are also one of the first things to get worn out on a chair Vertagear might not have added foam for this reason.

Overall, this chair is extremely comfortable to sit in for any amount of time no matter what you are doing!

Conclusion

This gaming chair is on the more expensive side (at $460) of most gaming chairs, but between the extremely sturdy design and the comfort I think the extra money would be well spent especially if you’re regularly sitting in a chair for long periods of timeA big thanks to Vertagear who stands behind their product and sent me the SL5000 to test out. I have been using it for several weeks now and I will not be giving this chair up anytime soon! My dad, who has a desk job, keeps trying to steal it from me!
