The Vissles v84 is a hot swappable prebuilt mechanical keyboard, with Vissles self-developed VS II switches.

This keyboard can operate both wirelessly (via Bluetooth 5.1) and wired (USB-C). With its 3750mAh lithium battery you can get up to 150 hours (about 6 and a half days) of wireless use. The Vissles v84 can connect wireless to 5 different devices at the same time. To switch between the connect devices hold down the function key with any of Q-T (device 1-5) on your keyboard.

This keyboard has a 75% layout, with 84 keys. It is equipped with Dynamic Backlight RGB with 19 modes and 8 colors. Modes can be switched using the function (fn) and end key. Vissles also has RGB software where you can customize your RGB colors, patterns, flow etc.

Out of the box the keyboard comes in a Mac layout, but you can switch to a Windows layout by using the keycap puller (included) and replacing with the Windows keycaps (also provided). For a more comfortable gaming or typing experience the magnetic rubberized feet can be attached to the bottom of the keyboard.

Included in the box are the following:

  • Vissles v84 keyboard,
  • high-quality wrist rest,
  • keycap and switch puller (which are some of the nicest that I have seen included),
  • 3 Windows keycaps,
  • Micro-fiber cleaning cloth,
  • magnetic rubberized risers,
  • and detailed user’s manual.

Design

The Vissles v84 keyboard has a 75% layout which makes it simple and sleek. This keyboard has a low-profile design which makes is fit into any work or gaming setup without standing out too much. It is heavy, coming in at around 29 oz (824 grams). Not exactly light! Once you set it down, it is not moving! The pro version of this keyboard is all white. The non-pro version comes in black or red. I really like the font on the keycaps, as it fits both in a work or gaming environment.  It is a solidly built and durable with PBT (Polybutylene Terephthalate) keys and is rated for a lifespan of 60 million key cycles. Another thing I like about this keyboard is the hot swappable switches. You can easily change the switches on this keyboard by using the tools provided in the box. I really like the overall design of this keyboard. There is a small switch on the underside of the board to turn the Bluetooth on. The only slight complaint that I have with this keyboard is that it is a little tall for my liking. I can’t really use it without the wrist rest without my getting sore. Also, the number keys are a little hard to reach without the rest.  This is just a personal preference; it may not affect you at all.

Performance

I have to say that I have been really impressed with the performance of this keyboard. This keyboard come with Vissles custom made VS II switches. These switches are not stiff or mushy. These VS II switches have a linear feel, which makes a smooth and consistent keystroke with a quiet noise. They are on the lighter side, but I personally like a bit lighter of a switch. These VS II switches have a 45 gram (~1.6 ounce) activation force, 2mm (~0.08 in) pretravel, and a 4mm (~0.16 in) total travel for a pretty standard Cherry Switch feel. I have to say that this is one of the nicest sounding keyboards that I have ever heard! It has a crisp clicky, smooth sound which makes for a nice typing sound.  One of the craziest things about this keyboard, is that this is Vissles first time making a gaming keyboard, and they did such an amazing job! This is probably one of my favorite keyboards that I have ever used in this price range!

Conclusion

Overall, the Vissles v84 is a great keyboard for the price of $120 USD! It provides a great typing and gaming experience with the VS II switches, and the keyboard is nice and compact. It can connect it to 5 devices at once reducing the number of boards you need on your desk!  This keyboard has lots of cool RGB options, but it’s not too overpowering. This keyboard would fit nicely into a work or gaming environment and would exceed your expectations in both! If you use the “V84” and “PCGH” coupon codes at checkout, you will receive $15 off your purchase.
