How to Pick The Best RTX 2070 Super for You

If you are looking for a great 2070 rtx, you may be looking to overclock a system, improve an old computer, or really trick out your setup. Pinpointing not only your needs, but the different versions of these 2070 graphics cards can really help you create a computer build that meets your goals.

RTX 2070 Super In Detail

These graphics cards provide increased quality for a great screentime experience. Provided that you optimize your setup to really take advantage of a 2070 super, you can see vast improvements to your visuals, cooling, and speed.

The 2070 super is a mid-line graphics card that hits close to the same graphics quality as the 2080 super but has a lower price point. These “Super” units are considered improved compared to the 2070 graphics cards, because they aren’t Turing-based cards. If you’re looking at the 2070 vs 2070 Super, consider that the 2070 does not have the same advanced capabilities as the 2070 super, especially in regards to the memory and the boost clock speed that you can achieve with the driver.

A great thing about these drivers is the customization you can achieve through their use. The VRM design of the card can be improved, for instance, while the custom PCB may allow you to include RGB lights, different cooling settings, dual BIOS, and an increase in power connectors.

Some of these cards come with increased cooling designs, that may allow you two to three times the cooling power, which really stabilizes your overclocking experience. You can optimize your all-out performance by installing one of these drivers, without a doubt, and that alone makes their purchase and installation worthwhile.

1. Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2070 Super Gaming OC 8G Graphics Card

Editor’s Rating: 4.8/5

Features:

  • Powered by GeForce RTX 2070 Super, for an exceptional driver experience that provides optimal overclocking

  • Real time ray tracking is present, to increase your speeds

  • Contains a Wind Force 3x Cooling System with alternate spinning fans, which allows you to have a build that runs both quickly and cool.

  • Controls are intuitive, with AORUS engine, for easy integration and increased gameplay

  • The RGB Fusion 2.0 gives off a spectacular light effect, meaning that this driver not only adds power to your build, but greatly increases its aesthetic as well

  • Cooling capacity increased even further by the composite heat-pipe that uses phase transition and thermal conductivity to move heat out of your build

The Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2070 has absolutely everything you could want in a driver. It’s quick, powerful, and has longterm cooling capabilities that leave it healthy without rushing or pushing your system. There is a lot of memory in this driver, and it constantly performs at a high caliber.

If you’re looking for a driver that destroys the benchmark, this is it. The overclocking is a dream, and the cooling system is state of the art. Because it contains an AORUS engine, it’s easy to integrate into your system and truly is intuitive.

Something I truly admire is the alternate spinning fan setup in the driver. This is the ONLY solution that decreases turbulence from having three fans in your build. The middle fan spins in the opposite direction from the two outside fans, providing in-tandem rotations that increase the amount of air that moves through the build. There are multiple copper pipes and composite heat-pipes to dissipate heat effectively and control the temperature within the system. If you need to run hard, long, and cool, this is a great driver.

However, with this in mind, and with how powerful this driver is, the cooling system can become loud. If the fans are incorrectly installed, or if they are dirty or damaged, they can become affected. A huge part of making sure this system continues to work for you in the long term is caring for the fans. Overall, though, as far as weaknesses are concerned, that is a pretty tame one.

Pros

  • Durable
  • Powerful clock and high memory
  • Suitable number of outputs

Cons

  • You have to pay attention to the health of the fans

Conclusion:

The MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 2070 is a wonderful build that provides great quality for a tight budget. If you’re a beginner but want to create a build that is still worthwhile, this is a great driver to pick.

The graphics are effortless because of the software involved in the driver. Using artificial intelligence and programmable shading in particular, the gameplay is not only quick, but is crystal clear and beautiful. Colors seem brighter, lines are sharper. My crops are watered. The realism of these graphics can really amp up any gameplay, which I appreciated a lot from a GPU.

Another important feature of this card is the next-generation memory, which increases your speed and learns with you in order to shorten speeds as you use them. Overclocking is therefore a breeze because of these quick speeds, intense memory, and the cooling capacity, which allows your system to run for a long time at intense workloads.

If you are looking to overclock your build without causing any overheating or lag, especially on a budget, this is a great choice However, there is one caveat — this is a loud driver. It’s truly loud. You can hear the fans almost constantly. Which, if you’re not bothered by distractions, is no problem whatsoever. They are also very large compared to other 2070 supers, which means that you have to check the spacing inside of your build in order to make sure that you have enough space.

Pros

  • Enhanced graphics
  • Overclock with ease
  • Visually appealing

Cons

  • Very large compared to other 2070 Supers

The MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 2070 Super 8GB is a build that provides truly beautiful visuals and uses consistent artificial intelligence to give you a reliable, dependable GPU. These visuals are full of dimension, and this is aided by just how quickly this driver runs.

This MSI driver clocks in at about twenty-five percent faster than the original RTX 20 system, and runs cool and quiet. This is another plug-and-play driver, lending itself to easy installation. It’s very quiet, and also comes with RGB lighting, so it’s flashy and beautiful.

I enjoy this driver a great deal, because it suits all of my purposes on my current small build. This GPU has beautiful visuals, is extremely fast, and doesn’t carry the same weight or difficulties as other drivers, while simultaneously running just as quickly. However, this is a thick card. When you’re looking to purchase it, you should consider the size of the card so you don’t come up either short or disappointed.

Pros

  • Powerful cooling system

Cons

  • Lack of RGB lighting

Memory 8GB
Memory Interface 256 Bit
Clock 1770 MHz
Ray Tracing Yes
Output 3 x DisplayPort 1. 4, 1 x HDMI 2. 0b

The ZOTAC Gaming GeForce RTX 2070 Super Mini is a very attractive buy, and is a powerful driver that ups the ante for visuals. With simplified factors such as the one-click OC Scanner, ray tracing cores, Turing architecture, and NVIDIA DLSS to name a few, this driver packs a speedy punch and continues to perform cool and quick.

The Ice Storm 2.0 is currently the strongest cooling system marketed by ZOTAC, and is attached to the back of the driver to keep it out of your way. Using an aluminum heatsink and an optimized heat-pipe layout, this driver is legitimately engineered to run cool, which protects your equipment from thermal meltdowns and still provides the speed to help you overclock.

Aesthetically, this is also a great driver if you want to maintain a look that has light without too much color. The RGB lighting is white, which won’t conflict with any other color — or lack of color — in your setup.

If you invest in this driver, keep in mind that your coil fans may be louder than you’re expecting, and that the fan bearings require maintenance.

Pros

  • Very good support for gaming
  • Ideal for AMD GPU users
  • Price friendly

Cons

  • It doesn’t come with remote controller

Conclusion:

How does the RTX 2070 Super perform?

When put up to a large number of outside tests, the RTX 2070 Super performs at an increasingly high rate, especially compared to the RTX 2070. The best rtx 2070 cards are known to maximize your ability to play quickly and coolly, and are typically quiet. Some benefits to these cards are that they may be easier to install than previous builds and they tend to be more affordable than the premium prices of the 2080 Super cards.

The 2070 Super will not touch the level of performance of the 2080, standard or super, but it is truly a happy medium when it comes to price-to-performance. These cards allow the average user or beginner builder to still receive a quality product without breaking too deep into their bank.

How We Test Graphics Cards

In our search for the best RTX 2070 super, we prioritized comparing these cards to standard use. This means that I put them in builds that I would normally use, in conditions that I would usually be in. At home, in the office, or in a portable gaming machine, I would install these drivers at an energy source, heat, and use patterns that I would normally use, instead of catering to the suggestions for the driver.

Next, I would open the programs that I would normally use. For instance, I constantly have multiple browsers open, and am typically streaming music while I work. So I would have my music player open while I navigate between multiple browsers for writing a paper. I would also play my games with background browsers open, to see if the driver could stand up to that type of use.

From there, you can use a benchmarking service website, such as Novabench, to keep track of your GPU or driver’s score. This is a great way to test if there’s any interference happening within your system as well. There are tons of websites to choose from that can help you clock or benchmark what’s going on in your build, and using them can really help you optimize your setup.

Tech Specs You Need to Have in Mind

When buying a driver, you need to consider the memory of your purchase. If you’re gaming, the gaming FPS numbers will be important to consider. RAM is also something to take into consideration, as well. All of these will give you a quicker, more versatile setup with an increased capacity to learn.

Length and Width

These drivers are usually relatively large, sitting at about a foot long. They’re usually around four to six inches in width, and about an inch tall. Keeping this in mind will help you find the right driver fit for your computer.

Clock Speeds: Do they matter?

Clock speed has a direct linear correlation to FPS. That means that it’s a relatively important metric to keep in mind if you will be using your computer for gaming.

Ports, and what USB-C is doing here

I’m always a fan of more ways to connect accessories to my setup, so I’m always considering ports. They’re a great way to introduce different additions, and should be considered if you want to optimize your setup.

The USB-C is present on the 2070 Super, which is great because the USB-C is becoming more and more standard for tons of modern technology. A USB-C port being present means that your build is less likely to become outdated as quickly.
